We teach and respond to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three person of the Trinity are coequal and co-eternal, one God. The communion practice of Calvary Lutheran follows the LCMS doctrinal practice of closed communion. This means Communion is for our LCMS members and those churches (AALC) whom we are in altar and pulpit fellowship with. And who are in good standing with their church.
The waters of Baptism connect us to God forever. Baptism, through water and the word, creates faith in our hearts by which we are able to confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh and is from God. Through Baptism, we are able to believe, to love, and to bear fruit. In the fulfillment of all deeds, witnessing and believing, we are to abide in the Word, which is Christ Himself.
Romans 5: 6-8
For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die–but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
